High strength launches

Perfromance Fibers, one of the world’s leading producers of polyester fibres and materials launched several high-strength products at Techtextil, Germany.

The new products included spun-dyed high tenacity yarns for use in coated fabrics for awnings, banners, signs and other outdoor uses.

Also new was the 1H75 fibre for tyre reinforcement and industrial applications. This represents an advancement in the company’s portfolio of Dimensional Stable Polyester (DSP) products. 1H75 fibre is designed to deliver a significant increase in strength while maintaining dimensional stability, for tyre cord, power transmission belting and hose applications.
In addition to1H75, the company also offers A360 fibre, a high tenacity, ultra-high modulus, low shrinkage polyester that has been designed to meet or exceed the performance of rayon in high performance passenger tyres.

Performance Fibres also said that it was broadening its PenTec fibre portfolio with manufacturing to be based in Bobingen, Germany. PenTec fibre offers high modulus and strength, making it ideal for offshore mooring, tire and engineered reinforcements.
